April 29, 2011 — Akzo Nobel is now offering its formula development tool software and Automatchic 6i spectrophotometer to select customers in areas including fleet operation and pre-delivery inspection (PDI) centers.
The tools were previously only used in Akzo Nobel’s color formulation laboratories, the company said in a press release_notes about the offering. The expanded availability is part of a broad strategy to provide the best color capabilities to more repairers throughout the industry, the company said.
“We try to meet the needs of customers at all levels,” said Ralf Schueler, marketing director for Akzo Nobel. “While sophisticated color formulation tools may be of considerable value to PDI center operators, we place just as much emphasis on color tools for repair specialists working in small body shops, high-volume body shop chains and OEM dealer body shops. Our commitment is to offer something for everyone, which is why we have significantly upgraded nearly all of our color tools this year.”
Akzo Nobel also announced the launch of the second edition of Sikkens ColorScala Pro. The upgraded color tool will allow repairers to get higher gloss paint swatches, providing more accurate and reliable color representation, according to the company. The product is available this month.
