Sept. 21, 2016

Sept. 21, 2016—Applications for automotive scholarship opportunities offered by more than 30 auto care industry organizations are now being accepted online, the University of the Aftermarket Foundation announced.

“For the current school year, a record number of automotive scholarships were awarded, totaling more than $400,000, and we are pleased to have added even more opportunities for the 2017-18 school year,” Pete Kornafel, MAAP, a trustee of the University of the Aftermarket Foundation, said. “We encourage deserving students that are pursuing a career in the auto care industry to visit the Automotive Aftermarket Scholarship Central website and apply today.”

Candidates can visit the automotive scholarships website to view scholarship opportunities. Scholarships are available for students enrolled in two-year technical colleges or vocational schools and training to become automotive, heavy-duty, or collision repair technicians. Students attending a four-year university pursing a degree in business, marketing, engineering or other other course of study and planning to enter the automotive industry are also qualified to apply for scholarships.

“Applications are reviewed by each organization where the applicant meets the specified criteria,” said Kornafel. “A full list of scholarships is featured on the home page, and there is a page outlining each organization’s scholarship details, eligibility requirements and awards. To apply for as many scholarships as possible, applicants should thoroughly read the individual pages to ensure they include the proper information required by each organization.”
