July 28, 2015

July 28, 2015—Axalta Coating Systems recently sponsored and presented at the Future of Coatings Under Study (FOCUS) conference in Detroit. This year’s FOCUS conference was the celebration of the event’s 40th anniversary.

John McElroy, award-winning journalist, broadcaster, analyst and lecturer, was this year’s keynote speaker. His keynote address, Get Ready to Rumble, How the Auto Industry is about to Change Forever, discussed challenges and opportunities in the automotive industry.

“The FOCUS conference should be commended for bringing the industry together to discuss priorities and concerns that are unique to the automotive industry,” said Matt Boland, Axalta Coating Systems product director, morning monitor for FOCUS. “Axalta has been a long-time supporter of the conference, and we value the mix of leading experts, innovative ideas and well-regarded networking.”

Scientists from Axalta’s Mount Clemens, Mich., manufacturing facility discussed semi-empirical methods to assess co-solvent evaporation from waterborne films at the conference.
