Industry consultant Stephen Regan joins governmental affairs firm

Nov. 18, 2011

Nov. 18, 2011—Collision industry consultant Stephen Regan on Thursday announced he joined Brian S. Hickey & Associates, a Boston-based governmental affairs firm, to help develop and grow its public relations and grassroots subsidiary, Strategic Management Services (SMS).

SMS is currently overseeing the grassroots efforts of the Massachusetts Right to Repair campaign, according to Regan. Regan has worked as a consultant for SMS on Right to Repair since January 2010.

“I have known Brian Hickey for over 20 years and our friendship and working relationship has grown ever stronger through our mutual work representing the collision and repair industry in Massachusetts,” Regan said. “In addition, he has an extremely talented staff, whose team approach to problem solving really separates them from firms that offer similar services. This is an exiting opportunity for me to work with Brian and the team to grow SMS.”

Regan, of consulting firm Regan Strategies, said he has provided services to the automotive repair industry since 1999 in the areas of legislative and governmental affairs, public relations and association management. Regan said the move to Brian S. Hickey & Associates will allow him to improve upon his service offerings to the repair industry.

Regan is the former executive director of the Massachusetts Auto Body Association, and currently serves as chairman of the Collision Industry Conference’s (CIC) Governmental Affairs committee. He is also a national director and executive board member for the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS), and former chairman of the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Public Relations committee.

Regan said he will continue his volunteer roles with those organizations through his affiliation with Brian S. Hickey & Associates.

Brian Hickey & Associates has provided government affairs representation to the automotive industry for more than 25 years. The firm also represents clients in the areas of telecommunications, life sciences, energy, education and gaming. For more information, visit brianhickeyassoc.com.
