PALM SPRINGS, Calif., Jan. 17, 2014—Paul Massie, powertrain and collision product manager for Ford’s customer service division, discussed the all-aluminum 2015 Ford F-150 Friday at the Collision Industry Conference in Palm Springs, Calif.
Massie said that Ford will present a “vehicle in white” to demonstrate the structural components, beginning with the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey’s NORTHEAST Automotive Services Show, held March 21-23 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, N.J.
Massie said that Ford will also demonstrate the equipment and parts needed to repair the vehicles. Massie noted that Ford will not require shops to have aluminum clean repair rooms partitioned off with cinder blocks, but instead recommends the use of curtains.
Massie said further announcements about training Ford that has developed with I-CAR will also be made at that time.
Following NORTHEAST, similar presentations will be rolled out during Industry Week and SEMA.
