BASF to grow training center network

Aug. 23, 2012

Aug. 23, 2012—BASF Coatings is expanding its global training network with three new international Refinish Competence Centers (RCC), including one location in the United States.

BASF said it recently opened a new RCC in Vietnam, and has plans for two others in Italy and Atlanta, Ga. The Italy and Georgia locations are scheduled to open in 2013. A specific date was not disclosed.

BASF’s RCC training network is comprised of more than 50 training centers worldwide, including Australia, China, Unites States, France, Germany and several Asia Pacific countries. The training centers are used to train painters on the use of automotive paints, products and techniques. BASF said more than 12,000 painters attended its training courses in 2011.

“These days, painters need more than traditional training. For this reason, we offer training courses at the RCCs that focus on both the quality and the efficiency of the seminar participants,” said Ken Marshall, head of BASF Automotive Refinish Coatings in Asia Pacific.
