ASA updates Not-Included Operations guides

Jan. 13, 2011

Jan. 13, 2011 — The Automotive Service Association (ASA) recently updated its Not-Included Operations charts, meant to ensure collision repairers consider all possible operations when writing estimates.

Two guides are available: one on the installation of new replacement parts and another focused on recyclable parts. The charts should be used in addition to procedure pages from information providers, according to the ASA.

“ASA continues to stress the importance of getting paid for the steps performed and the materials used in the repair process,” said Denise Caspersen, ASA collision division manager.

She said ASA’s estimating subcommittee reviewed the guides, which cover not-included operations from the industry’s major estimating systems. The publications are available in PDF format for shops that are members of ASA. They can be purchased online at asastore.com or by calling the membership department at 800.272.7476, extension 295.
