Jan. 24, 2019—The Elkhart Area Career Center in Ind., and Vincennes University are offering a course that uses virtual reality as a teaching tool, reported WSTB.
The virtual reality is a simulator that helps students practice and learn the real thing, according to the report. The students work to master distance, speed, overlap, angle stay parallel and make products look good when it goes on.
Once the skills are mastered in the virtual reality, the student moves on to practicing on a vehicle.
Vincennes University teamed up with the Career Center to make this training possible, donating the virtual reality equipment, which costs upwards of $53,000. The university offers college credit for students who go through the program.
