AASP-NJ Prepares Members for Auto Body License Renewal

July 30, 2018

AASP-NJ has released a useful guide for all members designed to help them successfully complete their 2018 Auto Body License Renewal before the Sept. 30 deadline.

July 30, 2018—AASP-NJ has released a useful guide for all members designed to help them successfully complete their 2018 Auto Body License Renewal before the Sept. 30 deadline.

The guide, prepared by AASP-NJ Executive Director Charles Bryant, is exclusively available to current AASP-NJ members.

Every year, the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission makes a few changes to the renewal process which can make it confusing, explains Bryant. AASP-NJ prepares a checklist designed to break down the process for shop owners so they are aware of what applies to them and what does not. For example, the application packet may include forms that do not apply to the majority of shop owners; therefore, the process may be easier than many realize. AASP-NJ's checklist goes over every step of the process from required signatures to insurance requirements and mandatory certificates.

The renewal deadline is September 30, not August 15. The August deadline only applies to those shops which have changed their business origination, structure or address.
