Automakers, OEMs to Attend, Teach at NACE/CARS

June 19, 2014

June 19, 2014—Several original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and automakers will teach courses at this year’s 2014 NACE/CARS Expo & Conference.

Ford Motor Co., General Motors Co., Chrysler, Audi, Alcoa and 3M will be in the Motor City this year for the conference at the COBO Center in Detroit, July 30–Aug. 2.

The courses will feature issues in tooling, training and equipment needed to repair cars currently on the road and those coming out in the future.

“For example, Ford’s recent announcement of its using military-grade aluminum alloy in the construction of the 2015 F-150 is causing the entire industry to take notice and seek information and training,” said Dan Risley, president and executive director of the Automotive Service Association. “With that in mind, NACE planners have made sure there are classes and training that will help collision repair facilities be prepared. Ford will offer a class on aluminum repair several times throughout the week.”

Repair classes include:

  • 2015 F-150 Aluminum Repair Information and Ford’s National Body Shop Program by Ford
  • 2014 New Vehicle Technology, Part 1 and Part 2 by ACDelco
  • Audi-Authorized Aluminum Program by Audi
  • Plastic Welding & Bumper Repair by ProSpot International Inc.
  • Aluminum Welding & Repair by  ProSpot International Inc.
