April 4, 2011 — The Women’s Industry Network (WIN) on Monday announced 10 winners of its 2011 WIN Conference scholarships, which cover registration costs for the event, set for May 1-3 in San Diego.
Scholarships were awarded in three categories: students, instructors and repair center employees.
The student recipients are Hannah Nickles, Ozarks Technical Community College; Kendy Maddox, Southeast Community College; Rickia Mines, Center of Applied Technology North; Jessica Crowley, College of Western Idaho; Jessica Gauthier, Green River Community College; and Mollee Lunkwitz, Southeast Community College.
“Our organization believes that we have an obligation to promote the entry of young women into our industry, and WIN’s annual conference is one way to do that,” said WIN board member Jennifer Justice-Haley, who serves on the education and scholarship committee. “At last year’s conference in Orlando, 150 women attended, including a handful of students that were embraced, cheered and encouraged by the group. It was one of the most meaningful and satisfying parts of the conference.”
The instructor scholarships went to Michele Charlebois-Didreckson of Ozarks Community College and Rodney Bolton of the Center of Applied Technology North. The employee scholarships were awarded to Tona Haywood of Gautier’s Auto Body and Glass and Teresa Super of TGIF Body Shop.
