Dec. 26, 2018—According to a forecast by AAA, a record-breaking 112.5 million travelers, more than one-third of all Americans, will travel during the 11-day holiday travel period, reported Omaha World-Herald.
This number represents a 4.4 percent increase over last year.
AAA predicts that 102.1 million Americans will travel by car this holiday season. About 6.7 million people will travel by air, the highest number in 15 years and 4.2 percent more than last year.
The holiday travel period runs through Jan. 1.
