Jan. 25, 2011 — The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers’ (AASP) Minnesota chapter is organizing a first-ever pilgrimage to the state Capitol next month to teach automotive repair professionals how to deliver messages to legislators about industry concerns.

The event, set for Feb. 23 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., is open to all AASP-MN members and will include an overview of the legislative process, Capitol orientation and legislative speakers. Members can also make individual appointments with state representatives and senators. Early attendees can watch a hearing of the Senate Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection, which starts at 10:30 a.m.

The cost is $15 per person, which will be used to cover lunch. Registration is due Feb. 4. For more information or to sign up, go to aaspmn.org.
