NABC Gifts Three Vehicles Through Recycled Rides

Oct. 18, 2013

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 18, 2013—The National Auto Body Council (NABC) gifted two vehicles to the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY) through its Recycled Rides program on Friday during NACE.

The gifted vehicles included a Ford Edge and Dodge Caravan.

NPHY is the only organization in Nevada with a full program for homeless youth.

NPHY Executive Director Arash Ghafoori, as well as other NPHY staff members and program participants, were on hand to accept the vehicles.

Ghafoori said the vehicles will allow the program to transport homeless youth to safe shelters, drop-in centers, doctor’s appointments, and residential programs.

The program recently expanded its drop-in center to serve more homeless youth in need.

The gifted vehicles were donated by Allstate Insurance. The vehicles were refurbished by Caliber Collision and the Van Tuyl Group.

Greg Clark, senior director of marketing at Caliber, and Darren Huggins, national collision director at the Van Tuyl Group, were also on hand to present the gifted vehicles.

On Thursday, Recycled Rides gifted a conversion van to Positively Kids, an organization that transports handicapped children who are wheelchair bound.

“This can happen in your shop,” said Liz Stein, vice president of the NABC. “You can be a part of this program.”
