Order Reprints

April 18, 2014—AT&T announced earlier this week that it has entered an agreement to supply its wireless connectivity services to Volvo for use in the automaker’s vehicles in the U.S. and Canada.

AT&T already has agreements in place with General Motors, Audi and Tesla Motors.

Volvo will begin using the AT&T services—which will include roadside assistance, navigation and Internet-based radio features—in its 2015 model cars.

AT&T is part of a new wave of tech companies jumping into the auto industry. Both Apple and Google have already announced similar agreements to integrate their respective infotainment systems into vehicles.
