Pirelli’s Scorpion Ice & Snow, the 210 Sottozero, and the Winter Carving tires were rated No 1 by consumers responding to an opt-in Tire Rack survey.
The poll addresses 12 separate areas, including hydroplaning resistance, wet traction, cornering stability, dry traction, noise/comfort, steering response and other parameters such as light or heavy snow traction, ice traction and whether or not the customer would consider purchasing the tires again if given the opportunity.
The survey data is tabulated from the responses of customers and Internet site visitors, with performance traits rated on a scale from “0” to “10”, with “10” considered superior.
The Scorpion Ice & Snow tire is rated No. 1 in the Studless Ice & Snow LT (Light Truck) rankings. It placed first in the hydroplaning resistance, wet traction, cornering, stability, dry traction, steering response, ride comfort, noise comfort and treadwear categories.
The Winter 210 Sottozero rated No. 1 in wet hydroplaning resistance, wet traction, dry traction dry cornering stability and ride comfort; it tied for the first spot in noise comfort. The tire also comes in a run-flat version.
Top honors for wet hydroplaning resistance, wet traction, ice traction, ride comfort, noise comfort and treadwear went to Pirelli’s Winter Carving tire in the studdable category.
