Orlando, Fla., Oct. 7, 2011—The National Auto Body Council (NABC) will offer a 90-minute course on emergency extrication from a vehicle on Oct. 8 at 11 a.m. at the NACE Expo.
The training exercise is part of the NABC’s First Responders Emergency Extrication (FREE) program, which is offered nationwide. Mark Mosley, regional manager for Holmatro, a manufacturer of rescue equipment, will lead the course, which involves a live demonstration.
Updated training and tools for extraction are crucial as vehicle metals, restraint systems, airbags, and other components evolve, the NABC said. The FREE program, along with the NABC’s Recycled Rides program, also helps improve the image of the industry.
“The FREE program and Recycled Rides assist shops in creating positive community awareness about collision repairers,” said NABC Executive Director Chuck Sulkala. “They Exemplify the mission of NABC and it is an honor to be associated with the individuals, industries and companies helping to make our goals reality.”
