Audatex offers $25,000 matching grant for school makeover

June 13, 2011

June 13, 2011 — To help advance one California school’s collision program, Audatex is offering to match up to $25,000 in tax-deductible donations from individuals and businesses to the Collision Repair Education Foundation.

The matching grant will help cover $50,000 worth of supplies, tools and equipment for a school makeover, just as the foundation’s annual Ultimate Collision Makeover program does for a school chosen from a national pool of applicants. The California school will be chosen from the same applicant pool and both winners will be announced this fall at SEMA.

Audatex’s parent company, Solera, made the program investment as part of a $100,000 contribution to the foundation. It was the largest cash donation the non-profit has ever received.

“This is an exciting opportunity for Audatex and the industry to make a real difference in the lives of thousands of students through a school makeover,” said Rick Tuuri, vice president of industry relations for Audatex, which is based in San Ramon, Calif. “Schools and students are the future of our industry and Audatex is committed to the future. We look forward to working with our industry partners to make a difference for a worthy school and the students.”

During the past two years, more than 80 schools have applied for the foundation’s makeover program. Scott Kruger, executive director of the foundation, commended Audatex for helping expand the offering.

“This grant will significantly assist one California school’s collision program with needed tools, equipment and supplies,” Kruger said. “Audatex has put the challenge out to the industry to match their $25,000 and through others stepping up and a participating with this program, the industry can come together to support its own future.”

Industry members interested in making a contribution are asked to do so by Sept. 30. Checks should be made payable to:
