Federated Auto Parts will sponsor the Ken Schrader Racing ARCA
team in 2011. The Federated Auto Parts car will be driven by
one of the fastest rising stars in racing, Tom Hessert.
“Federated and Ken Schrader have had a tremendous relationship
through the years and our sponsorship of the Schrader Racing
ARCA team in 2011 is a natural progression of that
relationship,” said J.R. Bishop, director of racing and event
marketing for Federated Auto Parts. “We are honored to continue
our association with one of the legendary names in NASCAR and
excited to sponsor one of the young stars of racing. With a
great owner and great driver, it should be a tremendous season
for the Federated Auto Parts ARCA team.”
In 2010, Hessert finished third in the final ARCA points
standings with one win, 10 top-five and 15 top-10 finishes. His
victory came on July 10 in the Prairie Meadows 200 at the Iowa
Speedway in Newton, Iowa. In each of his two previous ARCA
seasons, Hessert finished eighth in the season points
standings.
The 2011 ARCA season begins Feb. 12 with the
ARCA 200 at the Daytona Speedway. That race will be televised
live by SPEED-TV at 3:30 p.m. EST.
“We are very excited to be running a full ARCA schedule in 2011
thanks to our good friends at Federated Auto Parts,” said
Schrader. “We are also looking forward to having a driver of
Tom’s capabilities racing for the Federated ARCA team. Tom had
a great season in 2010 with a chance to win the season
championship heading into the final weekend of the season.
Although he is only 24-years-old, Tom has finished in the top
eight in the final ARCA season standings in each of the last
three years so we are hoping for a big year in 2011 for Tom and
the Federated Auto Parts ARCA car.”
“A major part of our racing program involves hosting hospitality
events for our members and their customers at race tracks around
the country,” said Bishop. “The ARCA series is a great vehicle
for Federated to be able to host these events as well as a
chance for our members and customers to interact with Kenny and
Tom. We know it will be a great experience for all
involved.”
