GENERAL MOTORS: 2001 CHEVROLET SILVERADO, SUBURBAN, GMS SIERRA, YUKON XL WITH 8.1L VIN G ENGINE

SUBJECT: GM has issued a recall to replace a faulty crankshaft position sensor on certain vehicles. The sensor may fail while the engine is running, causing rough running or stalling and SES light illumination. It may also fail intermittently or permanently, causing a no-start condition. Not all vehicles are affected, and the bulletin includes a list of VINs. GM dealers will replace the sensor at no charge to the owner, and may reimburse owners who have already paid for the repair. The bulletin includes instructions for filing claims for reimbursement. Product Safety Recall 06083

CHRYSLER: 2002-06 DODGE SPRINTER, FREIGHTLINER SPRINTER

SUBJECT: A safety recall has been issued to repair the center and rear interior dome lights. If left on long enough, the light could overheat and cause a fire. The bulletin includes part numbers, illustrations and repair instructions. Safety Recall G-27

KIA: 2001-05 OPTIMA

SUBJECT: SRS warning light illumination with codes B1378 and B1382 may be caused by wiring problems under one or both front seats. The bulletin includes photos and complete instructions for lifting the seat, repairing the connector and securing the wiring in a different position to prevent recurrence of the problem. Bulletin KT2007092501

VOLKSWAGEN: ALL WITH FSI ENGINE

SUBJECT: MIL illumination with code P129F or P310B indicates problems with the fuel pressure sensor on the low-pressure side of the fuel injection system. Improperly built sensors were installed on some vehicles, and fuel is getting into the electrical portion of the sensor and causing faulty readings. Only specific vehicles are affected, and the bulletin includes a list of VINs, part numbers and complete diagnostic instructions. Bulletin 01-07-69

GENERAL MOTORS: 2005 AND LATER CHEVROLET CORVETTE, CADILLAC XLR

SUBJECT: Tapping or scraping noise at the rear wheel may be caused by a loose axle nut. If this is the case, both axle nuts should be replaced with new parts (10257766) using LOCTITE 272 and torqued to 160 ft.-lbs. The bulletin specifies not driving the vehicle for 24 hours to let the thread lock cure properly. Bulletin 07-04-95-001

AUDI: A3 WITH 2.0L FSI ENGINE

SUBJECT: MIL illumination with fuel trim codes P0171 or P2187 indicates the engine is too lean at idle. The problem may be caused by deformation of the air filter housing, making it impossible to install the air filter element correctly. This causes an incorrect mass airflow reading. The fix is to replace the air filter housing (06F 133 837 S) and air filter. Bulletin 2012966/4

CHRYSLER: 2006 GRAND CHEROKEE, COMMANDER, LIBERTY WITH 3.7L OR 4.7L ENGINE

SUBJECT: Momentary activation of the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and MIL illumination with codes P0340, P0344 or P0116 may be caused by a PCM software problem. The ESP indicator lamp may or may not illuminate, and the driver may notice a lack of throttle response. The bulletin includes complete instructions for reprogramming the PCM using the StarSCAN diagnostic scan tool. Bulletin 18-049-07

ISUZU: 2005-08 ASCENDER WITH 4.2L ENGINE

SUBJECT: ABS warning light illumination may be caused by wiring for the wheel speed sensors rubbing against the A/C compressor pulley. The bulletin recommends splicing in new wires if the insulation is damaged. Bulletin SB07-04-S004
