SRS light illumination and fault codes for the Occupant Position Detection Sensors (OPDS) have been the subject of a class action lawsuit.

ACURA: 2001-03 3.2CL, 2000-03 3.2TL, 2001-02 MDX, 1999-04 3.5RL, 2002-04 RSX

SUBJECT: SRS light illumination and fault codes for the Occupant Position Detection Sensors (OPDS) have been the subject of a class action lawsuit. As part of the settlement, American Honda has extended the warranty on these sensors to 10 years or 157,750 miles. Not all vehicles are included in this coverage. The bulletin includes a list of affected VINs and part numbers, along with complete instructions for replacing those sensors. Bulletin 06-008

BMW: 2004 X5 3.0iA (Model E53 with 3.0L M54 engine) with GM5 automatic transmission

SUBJECT: A voluntary recall has been launched to address high NOx emissions. The recall applies to chassis numbers LU20004 to LU46358. The fix requires reprogramming the DME powertrain control module, and the bulletin includes some programming tips but no program numbers. This recall may be covered under warranty. Bulletin SI B12 04 08

AUDI: 2005-06 A3

SUBJECT: Coolant leaks from the radiator can be a result of misrouted wiring during vehicle assembly. The wiring for the electric fans is secured to a support rib on the fan housing, and the original routing causes a connector to rub against the radiator itself. The bulletin includes illustrations showing the incorrect and correct routing. Bulletin 19 08 03 2011558/2

AUDI: 2005-07, all models, all engines

SUBJECT: MIL illumination with misfire codes stored in memory may be caused by moisture in the ignition coils. This bulletin was released late last year, but has been updated to add more models and engines. New ignition coils are available that will prevent this problem, and the bulletin includes part numbers for each engine application. Bulletin 28 08 06 2013623/4

CHRYSLER: 2007-08 Dodge Avenger and Chrysler Sebring

SUBJECT: A recall notice has been issued to address a potentially dangerous electrical problem. Unused tire pressure monitor connectors may become corroded and generate a short circuit. This can cause a no-start condition, a dead battery, inoperative cruise control and/or stalling while the car is being driven. One connector is hidden behind the left front inner fender, and the other is near the left rear wheel. The bulletin includes illustrations and complete instructions for locating these connectors, removing them and securing the wires. Recall H07

GENERAL MOTORS: 2007 Buick LaCrosse, Allure; Cadillac CTS, SRX, STS with 2.8L (VIN T) or 3.6L (VIN 7) engine

SUBJECT: MIL illumination with code P0008, P0009, P0016, P0017, P0018 or P0019 may be caused by a stretched timing chain. The codes indicate crank and cam position sensor problems, and a stretched timing chain will likely cause them to be unsynchronized and set several of these codes. The bulletin has illustrations and information on how to positively identify the problem, but no repair instructions. Bulletin 07-06-01-013A

GENERAL MOTORS: 2004-07 Cadillac CTS, STS, 2004-06 SRX

SUBJECT: Incorrect fuel level readings or false "Fuel Level Low" warnings along with P2066 may indicate software issues with the PCM. Updated software to correct this problem is available on the TIS2WEB service information Web site. Bulletin 06-08-49-001

VOLKSWAGEN: 2002-04 Jetta with 2.8L (BDF) engine

SUBJECT: MIL illumination with P0420 or any P03XX (misfire) codes might be caused by an overly sensitive catalyst monitor or misfire monitor. New engine control software is available to eliminate the problem. The bulletin includes software numbers but no reprogramming instructions. Bulletin 01 08 14
