BETHESDA, MD (Feb. 27, 2007) - The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) announced today that Ray Evernham, president and CEO, Evernham Motorsports, will be this year's special guest at the Aftermarket Legislative Summit in Washington.  Evernham, sponsored by the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance Inc., will be joining aftermarket executives, legislators and staff of the 110th Congress at a reception at the Rayburn Building, Tuesday, June 12, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The reception will provide attendees with the opportunity to meet and have their pictures taken with Evernham.  Evernham has been a member of the racing world since 1979. After his success as a driver, he became a crew chief for Hendrick Motorsports, where he earned three championships and 47 wins in 216 starts alongside driver Jeff Gordon. In 2000, Evernham was named "Crew Chief of the Decade." In that same year, he took on the new challenge of becoming a team owner.  In 2006, the media voted Evernham the "Greatest Crew Chief of All Time."  The Aftermarket Legislative Summit provides an opportunity for aftermarket professionals to come to Capitol Hill to meet with key congressional leaders and discuss issues that affect and impact their businesses. There is no registration fee to attend, and AAIA staff will schedule meetings with attendees' lawmakers. Attendees are responsible for making their own travel and hotel reservations. All that is required of participants is a day-and-a-half of their time and a commitment to voice their concerns to the men and women who are elected to represent them.  Online registration and more information about the 2007 Aftermarket Legislative Summit is available at www.aftermarket.org. The registration deadline is May 1, 2007.(Source: AAIA)
