New classes and training sessions created by Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Corp (SWAFC) are designed to provide business building and production excellence development for all automotive collision professionals.
More than 30 different educational courses will be offered in the second half of 2009 through classroom, Web and hands-on instruction at various SWAFC training centers in 11 metropolitan areas across the United States and Canada. They consist of multiple courses designed to increase business and include painter certification, AWX waterborne systems, color adjustment and blending, fleet refinishing, OEM certification training, accurate estimating, workshop efficiency and many more.
According to Rod Habel, SWAFC director of training, many of the new classes directly relate to Sherwin-Williams’ philosophy of helping its customers through lean thinking – introducing concepts that support sustainable practices – which in turn can increase productivity while minimizing or eliminating waste. He noted that most class offerings combined both productivity and sustainable practices as important business procedures through enhanced workshop efficiency, improved production throughput, estimating solutions for profit and identifying key performance indicators.
