Adams Auto Body and Service Center Celebrates 60 Years

The business, which started with a handful of customers who brought their cars to Jim Adams' garage, now has between 40 and 50 cars in process per day.

March 21, 2018—Adams Auto Body and Service Center in McHenry, Ill.,  celebrates its 60th anniversary. 

The business started out of the Jim Adams' garage and now has between 40 and 50 cars in process at its three-building campus.

Jay Adams bought his dad out in 1990 and now employs 23 body technicians, paint, mechanical, estimating and other employees at his shop. The shop participates in direct repair programs. 

Rick Corso, general manager, said the shop purchased about $14,000 worth of equipment in recent months to enable crews to repair aluminum vehicles.

The McHenry facility serves customers from Lake, McHenry, Kane and Cook counties.
