Virtual CIC Meeting Addresses Industry's Technology Concerns

July 24, 2020
Two full days of the newest industry information come to an end.

July 24, 2020—The Collision Industry Conference concluded its unprecedented virtual meeting on Thursday evening, following two full days of addressing the industry's current issues.

CIC's Jeff Peevy led the discussions as each of CIC's extensive committees presented their findings. Those presenting included the Emerging Technologies committee, the Education and Talent Pool committee, the Industry Relations committee, Parts and Materials committee, and the Governmental committee.

One of the most-talked about presentations was from Gene Lopez of Seidner's Collision Center and a member of the Emerging Technology committee, who outlined a detailed workflow for accurate calibrations. A standard procedure for calibrations has not been widely available yet, though highly sought after by technicians. AirPro's Chuck Olsen and Darrell Amberson of LaMettry's Collision also worked on the project.

Additional topics included steering wheel inspections, new technology definitions, and a suggested list of guidelines for body shops to follow in order to protect the data of their consumers as well as their shop. Each of these presentations will all be available on CIC's website early next week.
