The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is accepting nominations for the 2010 Tire Industry Hall of Fame until July 1, 2010.
The Hall of Fame is open to individuals in the tire industry, including manufacturers, inventors, publishers, equipment suppliers, tire association executives, tire dealers, tire and rubber recyclers and retreaders. The "Historical Contributors" category of the Hall of Fame recognizes those individuals who have been out of the industry for at least 20 years or more. These individuals may be retired, deceased, or may have begun their career in the tire industry and moved on to a different industry.
Inductees are chosen based on the following criteria: their contributions of new ideas, practices and/or innovations that promote the health and well being of the tire industry; their exemplary and distinguished service in the tire industry; and the respect of their peers. Contributions in civic, cultural, educational or charitable endeavors will be considered, but are not a primary consideration as attributes for selection.
The deadline for nominations for the Tire Industry Hall of Fame is July 1, 2010. A nomination form is available in the "Hall of Fame" tab under the "About" menu item at www.tireindustry.org or by calling TIA at 301-430-7280, ext. 109.
"The Tire Industry Hall of Fame has recognized the tire industry's brightest and best, and we look forward to choosing another select group of individuals for this year's honor," says TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield. This year's recipients will join past inductees, including Harvey Firestone, Charles Goodyear, Andrew Michelin, John Dunlop, Les Schwab and Mario Marangoni.
The Hall of Fame Inductions will take place Nov. 1 as part of TIA's Tire Industry Honors event, which is a part of the Global Tire Expo - Powered by TIA/SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
