Nominations for inductees into the Tire Industry Hall of Fame are now being accepted through July 5 by the Tire Industry Association (TIA).

The Hall of Fame is open to individuals in the tire industry, including manufacturers, inventors, publishers, equipment suppliers, tire association executives, tire dealers, tire and rubber recyclers and retreaders.

Inductees are chosen based on the following criteria: Their contributions of new ideas, practices and/or innovations that promote the health and well being of the tire industry; their exemplary and distinguished service in the tire industry; and the respect of their peers. Contributions in civic, cultural, educational or charitable endeavors will be considered, but are not a primary consideration as attributes for selection, according to Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield.

“The Tire Industry Hall of Fame has recognized the tire industry’s brightest and best, and we look forward to choosing another select group of individuals for this year’s honor,” he points out.

The existing HOF roster includes Harvey Firestone, Charles Goodyear, Andre Michelin, John Dunlop, Les Schwab and Mario Marangoni.

New inductees will be enshrined on Oct. 31 as part of the TIA’s Tire Industry Honors gala at the Global Tire Expo in Las Vegas.
