A new television tire commercial from Continental made its debut during the Speed Channel’s coverage of the Feb. 13 Grand-Am Fresh From Florida 200 Race.
“Our theme for this spot was to capture the essence of the personal relationship between you and your vehicle,” says Dana Zamalloa, manager of public relations and communications.
“The commercial focuses on the fact that your tires are the only things that lie between you and the road, and the importance of having quality tires,” Zamalloa reports. “But at the same time, it also captures the notion of the pleasure of the driving experience that comes from quality, high-performance tires.”
It is “targeted at enthusiasts with a passion for the open road and their vehicle.” The spot was produced by Mad Media of Oceanside, Calif. The entire sequence was filmed in San Diego at various locations around the city and throughout the surrounding region. It features a voiceover by TV personality Chris Jacobs, who formerly hosted the “Overhaulin” program.
