WIX has extended the WIX Filters Lap Leader Award contingency program to the NASCAR Camping World Series East and West for the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
“It’s a privilege to extend our WIX Filters Lap Leader Award contingency program to NASCAR’s top developmental series – the NASCAR Camping World Series East and West,” says Jeff Blocher, brand manager for WIX Filters, which celebrates its 70th Anniversary in 2009. “As a brand built on the quality of our people and their ingenuity and quest for excellence, we understand the effort, ambition and dreams of the race teams and drivers in these two Series, and we are honored to reward their success through this program.”
During every race, the WIX Filters Lap Leader Award contingency sponsorship will award the team that leads the most laps with $500. A $4,000 bonus will be awarded at the end of the season to the race team in each series that has accumulated the most individual Lap Leader Awards during the season. To be eligible for this contingency program, race teams must run the WIX Filters contingency decals on their front fenders and use WIX oil and air filters on their race cars during the season.
WIX has been the title sponsor of the WIX Filters Lap Leader Award in the NASCAR Sprint Cup, the NASCAR Nationwide Series and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series since 2004.
The NASCAR Camping World Series West schedule features 13 races in 2009. The series begins its 56th season at Thunder Hill Raceway in Kyle, Texas, on March 14. The NASCAR Camping World Series East schedule features 12 dates at 11 different tracks this season. For the fourth year in a row, the NASCAR Camping World Series East season will open at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Greenville, S.C., on April 11.
In addition to its NASCAR sponsorships, WIX Filters supports race teams at all levels through their Team WIX racing program. As a member of Team WIX, race teams are eligible for hefty rebates on the purchase of WIX racing products and receive free team gear.
