Federated Auto Parts has been given the green flag for the 13th straight year, as it gears up to be the main sponsor of the Federated Auto Parts 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race. The race will be held June 7 at Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, Tenn., and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2. “While Federated is a long-time supporter of racing at all levels, the Federated Auto Parts 300 has become our annual cornerstone motorsports event,” says Rusty Bishop, CEO of Federated Auto Parts. “This year we will entertain over 1,200 customers for hospitality and great racing. We are especially looking forward to awarding one lucky guest the grand prize of a brand new Chevy truck during the weekend festivities in Nashville.” A near-capacity crowd, who enjoyed a pre-race country music concert, watched last year’s Federated 300 at the Nashville SuperSpeedway while a nationwide audience tuned in the broadcast of the race on ESPN2. The Nationwide Series draws many of NASCAR’s biggest stars and last year’s Federated 300 winner Carl Edwards, who went on to become the 2007 Busch Series champion, finished the year ninth in the final Nextel Cup standings. Federated Auto Parts, headquartered in Staunton, Va., is one of the largest auto parts distribution and marketing organizations in North America.
