AASP-MN Announces September Workshop Dates

Sept. 5,2013—The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Minnesota (AASP-MN) announced that it will host three September workshops on a wide variety of topics, ranging from business operations to health care reform.

The first seminar, Sept. 10 from 4–8 p.m. at Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis, will focus on wheel alignment diagnostic angles and will be presented by Roger Creason of Hunter Engineering. The workshop is titled “Wheel Alignment Diagnostic Angles & Resetting Electronic Stability Control Systems” and will cover steering axis inclination, included angle, turning angle and setback and thrust angle.

On Sept. 18, AASP-MN will host “8 Steps to a More Profitable Auto Repair Shop,” from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hyatt Place Minneapolis/Airport-South in Bloomington.  The seminar, presented by Bob Cooper and Doris Barnes of Elite Worldwide, will teach attendees how to build a more profitable shop in the most ethical way. The seminar will cover how to set goals, find and hire quality employees, put together a marketing plan, improve sales and customer service, and generate higher sales and profits.

The third workshop, covering the new health care reform, will be held on Sept. 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. Dennis Begley and Aaron Hall of Thompson Hall Santi Cerny & Dooley will lead the session. This workshop will review the requirements and criteria of the Affordable Care Act, implemented Jan. 1, to help attendees decide what strategy will work best for their business.  The workshop will cover small vs. large business definition, tax credits, MNSure (Minnesota’s health care exchange), and the pros and cons of different options for small business employers.
