Still thinking about attending the University of the Aftermarket's Leadership 2.0 executive development experience? If so, there's good news — a few $1,000 scholarships still remain for Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA) members who wish to participate in the two five-day sessions. Presented by the University of the Aftermarket, Leadership 2.0 is the cornerstone of the industry's efforts to prepare a new generation of visionary executives at the distributor, manufacturer and association levels. And to demonstrate its commitment to this vital initiative, AWDA has pledged to fund 10 $1,000 scholarships for its distributor members. The 2007-08 Leadership 2.0 experience will consist of two five-day sessions — Sept. 16-21, 2007, and April 13-18, 2008 — at Northwood University's Troy, Mich., campus. The program will include a blend of industry research and market analysis; discussion and debate of new challenges and competitive strategies; individual skills training in communication, negotiation and conflict management; insight to new supply chain solutions; and presentations by a variety of industry leaders. In addition to the weeklong classroom segments, participants will work off-site to develop and present team research projects covering key industry issues. The top two teams will be invited to present their findings during the 2008 Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) in Chicago. For more information on the AWDA scholarships and to reserve a spot in the 2007-08 Leadership 2.0 class, please call (800) 551-2882 or visit the University of the Aftermarket Web site. Lodging, meals and course materials are included in the program tuition.
