ACURA: 2002-06 all models

SUBJECT: American Honda has extended the mileage warranty on certain VINs because of inaccurate odometers. Basically, it has added 5 percent to the mileage coverage, but not all items on the vehicle are included in the warranty extension. The bulletin lists affected models, warranty extension mileage and items covered under the extended warranty. Bulletin 06-050

AUDI: 2005-06 A4 and A6, 2004-06 S4 and A8

SUBJECT: Noise, vibration or shudder during the 3-4 upshift or 4-3 downshift may be caused by the torque converter clutch. Correcting this problem requires a new PCM program, and some models also will require a new special (blue) transmission fluid. The bulletin includes part numbers and software numbers for each model along with reprogramming procedures. It also includes a torque converter flushing procedure (which requires "driving" the vehicle while it's on the lift) and a transmission adaptation (relearn) procedure. Bulletin 37 08 03 2013023/6

GENERAL MOTORS: 2004-08 Chevrolet Aveo, Pontiac Wave

SUBJECT: MIL illumination with P0420 and P0131 or P0133 indicate low catalyst efficiency and oxygen sensor malfunctions. The codes may be in error, and GM has not yet determined the cause. The bulletin includes extensive diagnostic instructions for determining the real cause of the problem, and the repair may extend to reprogramming the PCM or replacing the catalyst, oxygen sensors or even the fuel injectors. The bulletin also refers to other bulletins and diagnostic information on GM's TIS2WEB information system. Bulletin 08-06-04-027

GENERAL MOTORS: 2004-06 Chevrolet Malibu, Malibu Maxx with 3.5L (VIN 8 and N) engine

SUBJECT: Loss of power steering assist at engine speeds above 3,500 rpm and a power steering warning displayed on the instrument panel may be caused by over-voltage protection software built into the control unit. Fault codes C0900 and/or ±325 may also be stored in memory. The problem has been traced to an interaction between the alternator and the ignition module/coil assembly. The repair involves replacing the coil pack and adding a ground strap. The bulletin includes illustrations, part numbers and diagnostic and repair instructions. Bulletin 08-02-32-005

GENERAL MOTORS: 2006-07 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent

SUBJECT: MIL illumination with P0741 indicates a problem with the torque converter clutch (TCC) solenoid. The fault is more likely to appear after extending driving and/or in high ambient temperatures. The problem is caused by an internal leak that allows transmission fluid to become trapped between the torque converter front cover and the TCC, causing excessive torque convert slip. The bulletin outlines code enable conditions and diagnostic tests for troubleshooting the fault. If the code is real, the torque converter should be replaced. Bulletin 08-07-03-025

HONDA: 1996-2000 Civic

SUBJECT: MIL illumination with P0420 (catalyst efficiency) and/or ignition detonation under load may be caused by poor connections at the igniter terminals. There also might be misfire codes. The fix is to crimp the terminals at the distributor to tighten the connections and, if the catalyst efficiency code is present, replace the catalytic converter. The bulletin includes part numbers for all affected models and color illustrations showing how to repair the wiring. Part numbers for a special crimping tool also are included. Bulletin 05-027

HONDA: 2006-08 Civic Si

SUBJECT: MIL illumination with P1116 indicates an implausible Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) reading. If no problem is found with the ECT sensor, the PCM should be reprogrammed. Not all vehicles are included in this bulletin, and the bulletin includes a list of affected VINs and program part numbers for each model. Bulletin 08-035
