AA Midwest, a division of AAEQ Manufacturers and Recyclers, recently opened its new automotive recycling facility in Blue Island, Ill. The facility significantly increases the capacity for AA Midwest to dismantle vehicles and export complete engine, drive train systems and body components to developing countries.

Strategically located in the south suburbs of Chicago, the 80,000 sq. ft. facility allows AA Midwest to increase the number of vehicles processed from 40 to over 500 per month.

“This new facility will help AA Midwest to meet the overwhelming demand we have received from our export customers,” said William “Billy” Stolberg, president and COO, AAEQ. Stolberg, who oversees the company’s Chicago area operations, says the export market utilizes engines and transmissions, steering gears and sheet metal, including doors, hoods and clips.

Vehicles that are brought into the company’s Blue Island facility are disassembled in accordance with local, state and federal regulations that apply to the proper recycling or disposal of all automotive related fluids and components. This includes gasoline, oil, refrigerant, antifreeze, brake fluid, batteries and transmission fluid.

AAEQ Manufacturers and Recyclers provides automotive parts remanufacturing, manufacturing and recycling under its AA Midwest and EngineQuest (EQ) divisions.  With locations in Las Vegas and Chicago and Blue Island, Ill., AAEQ has been family owned and operated since 1949.
