Oct. 5, 2016—A pair of military veterans with service-related disabilities and two Gold Star Mothers who lost sons in combat recently received nearly new cars from GEICO and Caliber Collision to honor their service and sacrifice. The presentation took place at one of the Washington Nationals’ final regular-season Major League Baseball games.
The late-model cars were provided by GEICO and refurbished by technicians at Caliber Collision shops who volunteered their time. The four vehicles were donated as part of National Auto Body Council’s Recycled Rides program, in which businesses in the collision repair industry team for charity.
The Recycled Rides Recipients in Washington included: Brad Gagnon, a Marine Corps veteran; Sharon Neil, an Army reservist; Mary Wiley, mother of late Army SPC Ross Vogel III; and Donna Robinson, mother of late Staff Sgt. Damion G. Campbell.
“In their time of need, it is our honor to provide the gift of transportation that can help rebuild and restore their lives,” said Paul Krauss, Caliber Collision’s senior vice president of operations.
