Kumho’s debut eco Solus KL21 replacement tire is engineered especially for drivers joining the growing crossover segment.
The tire’s environmentally conscious construction is capable of saving a tank of gas per year in reduced fuel consumption, according to Armand Allaire, vice president of sales.
“Kumho’s newest rubber compounding technology was used to lower the tire’s rolling resistance to unheard of levels, increasing the gas mileage of the vehicle,” Allaire asserts, noting that the release of rubber dust particles as the tire wears is reduced by up to 10 percent.
Calling it the company’s “latest and greatest” tire, he says it delivers all season traction, excellent handling and long mileage.
“As crossovers have a higher center of gravity compared to a sedan, stability is vital,” explains Allaire. “The straight rib design and solid center rib greatly enhance handling and stability and give consistent tread stiffness for precise steering feel.”
Carrying a 60,000-mile limited treadwear warranty, it is available in 21 sizes to fit 16- to 20-inch diameter wheels and comes in T, H, and V ratings.
The KL21 is Kumho’s second eco-friendly tire to be launched this year, Allaire reports, referring to the eco Solus HM for cars and minivans, which has a 100,000-mile limited treadwear warranty.
