Robby Gordon has taken the checkered flag in the 14th Annual SCORE Terrible’s Primm 300 race in Nevada while running on Toyo tires.
Gordon’s No. 77 Monster Energy/Toyo Tires /Polaris Chevy CK1500 trophy truck is equipped with 39X13.50R17 Open Country M/T-R tires, which have contributed to a 2009 SCORE winning streak that includes two victories plus second- and seventh-place finishes over four races, according to Stan Chen, Toyo’s manager of events and motorsports.
“This win was especially impressive as Gordon is still recovering from injuries sustained during a high-speed testing crash with his Hummer H3 racer only a few weeks prior,” Chen reports. “He endured the challenging 276-mile race, covering the four lap course in 4 hours, 49 minutes and 18 seconds for an average speed of 57.24 miles per hour and a margin of victory of 1 minute, 2 seconds,” Chen points out.
The Primm event “was the perfect time to be running on Toyo tires,” Gordon recounts. “If I would have had to get out to change a tire, it would have cost us the win,” he explains.
“Toyo has changed the game in off-road racing with no flat tires, and I’m proud to be associated with them,” Gordon observes. “We had another perfect race, and winning another off road race is a testament to my team and all of the equipment that is supplied to us by outside vendors.”
