Off-road racing champion Carl Renezeder has brought home his career-milestone 80th and 81st wins, taking first place in the Unlimited 4 class at the May 2-3 Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series event at Speedworld Off-Road Park in Surprise, Ariz.
Renezeder, racing on General Tire’s Grabber SC short course competition tires, held off tight competition both days to score the first place position for Team General Tire.
“It was a hard-fought battle all weekend long, but the truck and the Grabber SC tires held out to give us a win over a very competitive field,” Renezeder recounts.
“The combination of Carl’s driving skills and the traction and control the new Grabber SC tires are proving to be a dominating blend for winning short course races,” says Travis Roffler, the company’s marketing director. “Team Renezeder and General Tire have dominated short course racing this season, winning five of the first eight Unlimited 2 and Unlimited 4 races this year.”
The Grabber SC is available in size 35x12.50R17 for Unlimited 2 and Unlimited 4 drivers. Engineered with a three-ply Duragen-reinforced body construction to stand up to the rigors of off-road conditions, the tire also features a newly-developed competition-specific tread compound, according to Roffler. In addition, the Grabber name and General Tire logo are prominently featured on the sidewall in red and white letters.
The Grabber SC is the sister tire to the Grabber desert tire designed in size 37x12.50R17 for class 8 and trophy truck/trick truck; and 35x12.50R17 for class 1, 6, 7, 7 S, stock mini and Protruck.
The company also has a line of Grabbers for the passenger car and light truck market, including a DOT-approved off-road tire to be released later this year plus HTS, UHP and AT2 editions.
