Bearings-maker NSK Corp. paid tribute to American servicemen and women by giving them and their families a chance to enjoy a Father’s Day NASCAR racing program at the Michigan International Speedway.

NSK provided 150 tickets to the June 15 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series LifeLock 400 as part of the track’s Salute to Military Families program. The company marked its participation in the event with grandstand signage displayed throughout the weekend, plus involvement with the track’s hospitality program.

The tickets were given to families who have been affected by military duty.

“The NSK sponsorship of the Salute to Military Families program gives family and friends of the military the chance to have some fun at our racetrack,” says speedway President Roger Curtis.

“We are honored to be able to share a NASCAR experience with members of the United States military in appreciation of their selfless contribution to our country,” says Jerry Hope, NSK’s vice president of human resources. This is the second year that the company has sponsored the event.

“The military already has a huge presence in the sport, but NSK Corp. is making that presence even larger at our speedway,” says Curtis. “We appreciate the support of the program and what it means to all of our military heroes, including veterans and current military personnel here at home or fighting overseas.”

Founded in 1916, NSK employs more than 20,000 people worldwide and has 47 global manufacturing facilities. It produces more than 100,000 different types of bearings, linear motion devices and automotive components.
