Continental Unveils ExtremeContact Tire Line

Continental Tire introduced the ExtremeContact line of ultra-high performance tires built to push the performance envelope in a wide variety of conditions. The first tire in the line is the ExtremeContact DW that is built to meet the needs of today's sophisticated performance cars. It uses technology exclusive to Continental Tire to deliver excellent traction and responsive handling in both wet and dry conditions along with improved ride comfort. The ExtremeContact DW does all of this while delivering better mileage with industry leading rolling resistance levels.

The ExtremeContact DW also features DW Tuned Performance Indicators. These are visible letters built into the second rib of the tread and are designed to alert drivers of the tire's optimal performance levels. "D" indicates the tire is at optimum tread depth for dry conditions. "W" indicates the tire is at optimum tread depth for wet conditions. As the tire wears and the letters are still visible the tire performance remains optimized for the weather conditions.

The ExtremeContact DWS is also designed for ultra-high performance vehicles and features a unique asymmetrical tread design along with an advance tread compound. This gives its excellent traction in wet and dry conditions along with snow. The DWS also features Tuned Performance Indicators and along with "D" and "W" for dry and wet also incorporates an "S" indicator for snow performance.

Last of Continental's new line is the ExtremeWinterContact developed specifically to improve ice and snow traction with its advanced tread compound and structured siping. Multiple gripping edges give excellent traction and braking on snow and a high-tech flexible tread compound, combined with high sipe density, work together to reduce braking distances even on ice. The ExtremeWinterContact is built to operate in temperatures well below 45 degrees making it ideal for the coldest of the winter weather. The tire also delivers noticeable improvements in wet performance, excellent fuel efficiency, extended wear and ride comfort as well as considerable improvements in dry performance.
