Oct. 10, 2019—Derrick Hughes and his team are giving away guns, bibles and flags at their Ford dealership in Honea Path, S.C., according to the Detroit Free Press.

The staff came up with the idea after brainstorming how to generate shopper traffic during October and November.  Carolina Ford's "God Guns and America!" campaign started Oct. 1 and runs through November.

“We are not taking a political stance in any way, shape or form,"  he told WYFF News 4, the NBC affiliate in Greenville earlier this week. "We are all country folk, God-fearing people. We are very patriotic people, believe in our country and salute our military."

Customers are handed the Bible and flag, but customers get a voucher for the gun and must go through a background check to get it.

The promotion comes nearly four months after a Ford dealer in Alabama was told by Ford to end a shotgun giveaway.
