United Recyclers Group Announces New CEO

United Recyclers Group has announced Kristi Werner as the company’s new CEO.
United Recyclers Group (URG) has announced Kristi Werner as the company’s new CEO, according to a press release.

Werner, an 18-year veteran of the recycling industry, started with URG in 2011. Ten years later, she became chief technology officer, a title she has held since up until now.

Prior to her time at URG, Werner started working at Actual Systems Pinnacle in 2005 as a software engineer before being promoted to a project manager position.

With Werner taking the role, former CEO Donald Porter will be stepping down from the position he has held since 2012 to serve as an internal industry/business consultant for URG. He will also continue to lead the URG Foundation, which provides scholarships to children of those in the industry.

“Over the past decade, we have seen tremendous changes and consolidation in the recycling industry as well as with the customers we collectively serve,” Porter stated. “I am excited to continue working with URG to help our members build their businesses, and further the work of the URG Foundation to give back to the next generation of leaders for the recycling industry."
