AkzoNobel shareholders voted to appoint Ben Noteboom as a member of the company’s supervisory board at an annual general meeting, according to a press release.
Noteboom is expected to be made chair of the board starting May 25, in time for him to resign from the supervisory board of Aegon N.V. Noteboom will succeed Nils Smedegaard Andersen, who held the position since 2018 and is now leaving.
“We’re very pleased with the appointment of Ben Noteboom,” stated Deputy Chair of AkzoNobel’s Supervisory Board Byron Grote. “His strong track record in executive and non-executive roles, and his broad experience in different industries—including the chemical industry—will be valuable additions to AkzoNobel.”
Other business addressed in the annual general meeting included Jolanda Poots-Bijl and Dick Sluimers being reappointed to the supervisory board and company finances.
