APRA's Volume Transmission Remanufacturing Group to meet in Dallas

The Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association?s Volume Transmission Remanufacturing Group (VTRG) will meet on March 29, 2012 in conjunction with SHOWPOWER at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dallas.
The Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association’s Volume Transmission Remanufacturing Group (VTRG) will meet on March 29, 2012 in conjunction with SHOWPOWER at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dallas.

On Thursday, March 29, the VTRG will start the day at 8:00 a.m. with tours of Bishop International where the group will visit their facility where they remanufacture manual transmission units and reclaim automatic transmission hard parts. After a tour of Bishop the group will depart for AER’s massive engine remanufacturing plant.

“This state-of-the-art facility will be very educational regardless of what products one remanufacturers,” stated Jim Slimp, Chairman of the VTRG. After the plant tour, AER will treat the group to a luncheon in their museum, where they have a very large collection of classic vehicles.

In the afternoon the VTRG will meet back at the Hyatt Regency Hotel for the following presentations: “Overview of the Current State of the Transmission Market” with Bobby Mace, Publisher, TRANSMISSION DIGEST John Schroeder of Jasper Engines & Transmissions will discuss “The Geometry of Lean: Understanding the Golden Triangle” Laurie Strasser of Afton Chemicals will present “ATF: Why the Right Fluid is the Right Fluid”

  • The VTRG Clinic will end with a reception and dinner that evening.
