The longstanding partnership between Yokohama Tire Corporation (YTC) and Panoz Team PTG Racing will resume for the remainder of the 2008 American LeMans Series GT2 season, including the Generac 500 at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis. "Our relationship with (Team PTG owner) Tom Milner has seen great success in sports car racing over the years, and we're confident our goals with Panoz Team PTG will be fulfilled," says Mark Chung, Yokohama director, strategic marketing. "We're working closely with Team PTG and we look forward to making good progress, on the track in the upcoming races." "We have enjoyed a lot of racing success in IMSA and ALMS with a number of teams, but most recently with Tom Milner's Prototype Technology Group," says Jim MacMaster, Yokohama executive vice president, Business Division. "We're dedicated to continuing our work with PTG to get the best results on the racetrack. Team PTG, Panoz and Yokohama are focused on working as a team that lives up to our collective heritage of championship racing." Team PTG, with drivers Tommy Milner Jr., Tom Sutherland and Joey Hand at the wheel in 2008, currently ranks sixth out of 11 teams through six races. The Panoz Esperante GTLMs driven by Team PTG will be equipped with Yokohama Advan A005 tires at Road America through the end of the season. "Yokohama has a long history of racing success, and we're determined to provide the best high-performance tires for our racing partners," Chung says. "We're going to focus on new tire development and we set our sights on podium finishes this year.
