FinishMaster donates $52,000 in supplies to schools

Jan. 4, 2011

Jan. 3, 2011 — Indianapolis-based distributor FinishMaster recently donated $52,000 in masking tape, adhesive, paint remover and other supplies to collision programs at three Midwest colleges.

The company made the donations to Ivy Tech Community College in Terre Haute, Ind., Kennedy-King College in Chicago and Northcentral Technical College in Wausau, Wis.

“FinishMaster is proud to support the Collision Repair Education Foundation and their charter to train and educate the next generation of PBE technicians,” said J.A. Lacy, President and CEO of FinishMaster. “We know our donation will be useful to the technical schools as they prepare for the next semester.”

Scott Kruger, executive director of the Collision Repair Education Foundation, said the supplies came at a time when many instructors are facing budget cuts. The supplies would help instructors and students by providing the proper hands-on tools, he said.

FinishMaster operates 177 sales outlets and three major distribution centers in 29 states. For more information on the company, go to finishmaster.com. In December, FinishMaster agreed to be acquired by Uni-Select Inc. for $217 million.
