The scholarship recognizes automotive service professionals who have a strong desire to improve their management and technical skills through education. The recipient receives $1,000 to help cover expenses to attend educational sessions and view the latest repair technologies and equipment during the Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS), Oct. 10-13, in New Orleans.

Parlett, owner of Southeast Auto Service & Repair, Hinesville, Ga., has worked in the automotive service industry for seven years. She earned the Institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation in 2011. Parlett is a member of ASA and the Chamber of Commerce. When not working in the shop, she contributes her time to various community and industry organizations.

“I’m grateful to receive this scholarship. It offers me the opportunity to grow as a business owner, meet others in the industry and further my education and knowledge,” says Parlett.

AMI was established to answer the demand for continuing education tailored specifically for the business needs of the automotive service industry. The Institute offers the Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation, the first business management accreditation exclusively for the automotive service professional. To date, AMI programs have attracted more than 212,000 enrollments throughout North America. For more information, visit http://www.amionline.org.
