CAWA announced 2008 scholarship program recipients
The California/Nevada/Arizona Automotive Wholesalers' Association (CAWA) recently announced the recipients of the 2008 Memorial Scholarship Program. The selected students will each receive funds toward their 2008-2009 academic year. "Not only are we pleased to be awarding six scholarships this year, we are pleased that we are awarding them to deserving students from each state CAWA represents, this being our first year for Arizona." says Borise Cota of Akebono, the chair of CAWA's Scholarship Task Force. "We congratulate the students and wish them success in their automotove aftermarket career." Cameron Knight of Carson City, Nev., a student at UTI/Carson City, was selected to receive the Mort Schwartz award. This award is the highest award granted by the program and is named after the scholarship program's founder and former CAWA chairman of the Board, Mort Schwartz. Other scholarship recipients include: - Brandon Hall, San Diego, Calif. (WyoTech, Sacramento) UTI/Phoenix Applications will be accepted for the 2009 scholarship program beginning in Sept. 2008.
