The California/Nevada/Arizona Automotive Wholesalers' Association (CAWA) has awarded its 2008 Memorial Scholarships.The selected students will each receive funds toward their 2008-2009 academic year. "Not only are we pleased to be awarding six scholarships this year, we are pleased that we are awarding them to deserving students from each state CAWA represents, this being our first year for Arizona." says CAWA Scholarship Task Force Chair, Borise Cota of Akebono. Winners and their schools are as follows. Cameron Knight, Carson City, Nev., attending UTI/Carson City, was selected to receive the Mort Schwartz award, which is the highest award granted and is named after the scholarship program's founder and former CAWA chairman of the board, Mort Schwartz. Brandon Hall, San Diego, Calif. WyoTech, Sacramento Lucas Schwyter, San Lorenzo, CA UTI/Chabot Community College Larry Shields, Las Vegas, NV McPherson College, Kan. Ryan Renfrow, Redding, Calif. Northwood University Robert Itule, Tucson, Ariz. UTI/Phoenix Applications will be accepted for the 2009 scholarship program beginning in September at www.automotivescholarships.org.
