Ten participants in the upcoming Leadership 2.0 experience will receive a scholarship from the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA). AWDA will offer 10 $1,000 scholarships to current distributor members of AWDA who sign up for the two-week session, which is widely regarded as the industry's premier executive development experience.

"We are proud to support the University of the Aftermarket with these scholarships, and strongly encourage all of our AWDA distributor members to participate in this extremely rewarding educational experience," says AWDA Chairman Tim Sturdevant of SAE Warehouse, Inc., in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The 2007-08 Leadership 2.0 experience will consist of two five-day sessions that take place on September 16-21, 2007, and April 13-18, 2008, at Northwood University's Troy, Mich., campus. The program will include a blend of industry research and market analysis; discussion and debate of new challenges and competitive strategies; individual skills training in communication, negotiation and conflict management; insight to new supply chain solutions; and presentations by a variety of industry leaders.

In addition to the weeklong classroom segments, participants will work off-site to develop and present team research projects covering key industry issues. The top two teams will be invited to present their findings during the 2008 Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) in Chicago.

"AWDA's support of Leadership 2.0 represents an important commitment to strengthening the aftermarket's competitive position through results-driven executive development," says Jimsey Keith, director of the University of the Aftermarket. "We're very pleased to be able to offer this scholarship fund to deserving candidates who want to advance their careers in this exciting market."
